ANB Bank Protects Customers Against ATM Fraud

$

ANB Bank is leading the way to protect its ATMs by installing a new solution to combat new types of skimming.

This new software plus hardware is designed to help deter would-be thieves from targeting ANB’s ATMs and to protect the bank’s ATM users’ information.

While anti-skimming detection software and technology has been part of ANB Bank ATMs for years, this new solution to deter new types of skimming contains both software and hardware components. The hardware device is a customized copper bezel or cover for ANB Bank ATMs. The bank will outfit each of their ATMs with this piece that is attached to the card insert area of the machine making it much more difficult for thieves to install a deep insert skimmer, thus reducing their criminal attempts on any ANB Bank ATM. The copper device
also makes it easy for customers to identify that the ANB Bank ATM has the newest technology in place to safeguard their information. This device is in addition to the new software updates to the anti-skimming detection software.

“It is highly important we protect our ATM customers and this new solution helps us do just that, plus it will help deter or eliminate this fraudulent activity,” said Kevin Paintner, regional president.

Across the ANB footprint, the Bank has 30 banking centers serving customers in Wyoming, Colorado, and the Kansas City metro area. Its parent company, Sturm Financial Group, Inc. is headquartered in Denver Colorado and has financial strength embodied in over $2.6 billion in assets. The Bank ranks in the top 6% of banks nationwide by size. ANB is a true community bank with an unwavering commitment to excellence. It helps each of its communities prosper through investment, sponsorship, philanthropy, and employee volunteerism. It is a passion ANB has for banking that makes the difference.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Marketing and Communications Department Receives National Awards

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Marketing and Communications Department was recently presented with three gold, one silver, two bronze and four merit awards from the Healthcare Advertising Awards, a national healthcare marketing competition that this year included 4,000 entries from across the United States. The awards were given for materials created in 2017.

CRMC’s gold awards were for a newspaper ad focusing on the use of BotoxÒ injections to treat migraine headaches, a poster to encourage the use of a designated driver when drinking and a cinema ad to discourage distracted driving. The silver award was for the hospital’s “Find Your Right Fit” professional recruitment program and the bronzes were given for CRMC’s nursing annual report and a “Care Connect Expo” community event. Merit awards were presented for a flyer advertising a mammography outreach event, a poster promoting the CRMC Foundation’s “Bison Shuffle” fundraiser and for two cinema ads, one to encourage the use of a designated driver when drinking and the other to encourage the use of seatbelts.

“I’m very proud of what our marketing team has accomplished over the past few years. Winning these awards is rewarding and is also validation of the outstanding work that we believe we are doing for the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and our clinics,” said Hillary Hardy, CRMC’s director of Marketing and Communications. “My team is a tight-knit group, with experience that extends from public relations and copywriting to online media and traditional print design. I ask a lot of our department, and they’ve been willing to ‘wear any hat’ I’ve asked. They make work enjoyable, and it’s an honor to call them my teammates. They are truly experts in their fields.

A national panel of judges reviewed the entries and granted awards to work that showed exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness.

Gold awards were given to 360 entries, silver awards to 317 entries and bronze awards to 280 entries.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, a leading publication focused on healthcare marketing, advertising and strategic business development. On Monday, July 2 at 2 p.m., members of the Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities (MCPD) and councilman Pete Laybourn will host an ice cream social to celebrate the newly completed crosswalk located at Pershing Boulevard and Duff Avenue. The event is open to the public with the social privately paid for.

The crosswalk provides access to people with disabilities and mobility issues.

Members of the MCPD and those in attendance will meet at Frontier Access (1207 E. Pershing Blvd.) to utilize the crosswalk and meet for an ice cream social at Dairy Queen (1038 E. Pershing Blvd.).

“We are so grateful to City Council members, and in particular, our Council Liaison Pete Laybourn, who continued to support building this crosswalk,” said MCPD Chairwoman Patti Riesland.“The push for completion during a hectic construction season by Traffic Engineer Nathan Beauheim and Public Works Director, Vicki Nemecek, is also very much appreciated. They kept the project on budget and completed by the deadline. The safety of all citizens in Cheyenne, regardless of their abilities, is a top priority for every department in the City and we’re thrilled to have been part of this project.”

Prior to its installation, navigating along both sides of Pershing Boulevard was problematic for those with disabilities and mobility issues and was a project advocated by the MCPD, City Council members, and concerned citizens.

Friday Governor Mead golfed in the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament supporting local military initiatives.

The weather was wonderful on Friday for golfing and for building awareness around important initiatives in the greater Cheyenne area. The Chamber’s Wyoming Wranglers program funds a DC consultant who specializes in securing federal funding for local impact. The program has secured nearly $90 million in projects for FE Warren and the Wyoming Military Department.

Currently the program is working on a development called the Enhanced Use Lease. This will be a mixed use property that supplies 600 airmen a place to live within their means. Funds acquired will go toward the continued efforts to get that project launched.

Additionally, the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee will continue to host and support efforts like this to bridge the gap between the business community and the military. This event served as a great opportunity to meet that mission.

Hunting with Heroes was onsite during the event as well and educated attendees on their efforts.

Collectively it was a golf tournament which served a larger purpose by uniting community members for an important cause.

Cheyenne Summer Whiskey Now Available

A Unique Collaboration Brings Cheyenne Summer White Whiskey to Local Shelves.

The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority has partnered with Pine Bluffs Distilling and West Edge Collective to release Cheyenne Summer, a unique white whiskey that celebrates Cheyenne’s colorful past and current renaissance. It’s a specially-blended corn, wheat and barley whiskey made from locally grown ingredients and distilled in Pine Bluffs. The project came about after DDA staff visited Wyoming Malting/Pine Bluffs Distilling during a Joint Powers meeting and facility tour. During the tour, Vicki Dugger, Executive Director of DDA, asked co-owner Chad Brown if he would be interested in creating a specially-blended whiskey for Cheyenne. With an answer of “yes”, planning began in earnest to get a unique Cheyenne product on the shelves before Frontier Days. West Edge Collective came on board to quickly create an eye-catching label that features the depot plaza arch and boot. Dugger named the whiskey and created the label’s “story” and Chad Brown and sister, Erica Unruh, crafted the product. Last Monday, DDA staff traveled to Pine Bluffs to help the distillers bottle and label the product.

Cheyenne Summer is now available for purchase from local retail outlets including Provisions Wine and Spirits. DDA encourages downtown restaurants with a license and liquor stores, along with other Cheyenne outlets, help celebrate Cheyenne by offering this limited edition, specially-crafted whiskey.
