Carey Avenue to close between 17th and 18th Street beginning April 8

Beginning Monday, April 8^th, Carey Avenue between 17^th and 18^th Street will be closed as demolition efforts begin at the Carey Building, formerly known as the Z’s Building.

The full closure will be in place for approximately 4-6 weeks. The City will provide updates should the timeframe of the closure change. Traffic on 17^th Street will remain open in both directions during this time. Alternative routes are advised during this closure.

The sidewalk will remain open on the east side of Carey Avenue between 17^th and 18^th Street. The sidewalk on the west side will remain open north of the alleyway.

Detour routes will be posted on traffic control signs in the area.

The building once completed will be a City of Cheyenne Building. The bottom floor will serve as the Municipal Court Building and the upper floor is to be determined.
